Gateau au Chocolat

Are you bored in quarantine and just want to spice your day up? Well, I have found a very cool recipe for making chocolate cake which will really make you feel great. The recipe is down below:


Chocolate Cake recipe:

  • 3 eggs

  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) sugar

  • 75 grams of butter (a little more than half of one stick of butter)

  • 1 tablespoon of flour

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used the Ghirardelli one)

  • Powdered sugar (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven for 25 minutes at 380 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Melt your chocolate chips in a microwave for 30 seconds and mix it well. In case they don't melt, put in in the microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Note: After 30 seconds you should always check the chocolate so that it won't burn.

  3. Add your butter and mix well.

  4. Add your sugar and mix it so that it creates a sugar syrup texture.

  5. Next, put your eggs in one by one. Mix it well after adding each egg.

  6. The texture should be shiny and smooth (something similar to a runny version of slime.😉)

  7. Add your flour to the bowl and mix well.

  8. Set the oven to 380 degrees Fahrenheit and put your cake in for 20 mins.

  9. After 20 mins, put a small skewer inside the middle of the cake and make sure your cake is ready. You will know once the skewer doesn't have any thing liquidy on it.

  10. Let your cake cool down and then only continue with the next step.

  11. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on your cake. This is totally optional. You can even add any toppings to your cake. The choice is yours! I decorated my cake with powdered sugar and some chocolate dipped strawberries.
